We are open from Tuesday to Sunday every week
(Monday closed for rest and repairs).

How does it work?

• Telephone us on 082 429 4811 to make a booking
• We will tell you what the weather will be like as well as the time slots   available
• On arrival you will complete a slip from the coach
• Should you wish to book a few sets for the day, we suggest you book the   2nd and 3rd set at booking otherwise the slot could be given to another   skier.
• You are welcome to join us for a bite and a drink at the Clubhouse.

What else can I do at Lake Grappa & Ski School?

We have 2 self catering chalets (each sleeping 2) and 2 family self catering chalets (sleeping 4). We have a function room, bar and lots more.. For Prices etc., please click here.
We recently got 4 extra B&B rooms witch can accommodate 3 guests per room.


We offer variety of water and land activities for our guests staying over at the Lodge:

• Tournament skiing i.e. slalom, jump and tricks
• Beginner coaching – slalom
• Quad Biking
• Hiking Trail
• Fun Wake Snake Rides
• Paddle boat
• Horse-riding
• Game drives
• Canoeing (we have 4 sit – on kayaks)

What equipment do I need or do you have?


We use
• Malibu Response LXi 340 HP
• Fully Homologated Slalom and jump course
• Zero Off

Ski, rope and handles.

We have a range of water-skis to use to teach you, if you do not have your own. We also have life jacket, rope and handles for use behind our boats. We have Combo skis, slalom skis and wakeboards.

What is a set?

A set is a term used in skiing and it is about 20 minutes long, this is about as much as your body can take!

When is the season for skiing?

The season commences on 1 October and ends around 5 May every year.

Can we ski in the off season?

Yes, we can ski all year round, in winter you need a drysuit due to water temperature.

What is the weather like in Kakamas during the year?

The Ski conditions are close to perfect all year round, but in winter the water temperature drop to 12°C.
